A simple little stove ring and top that works as great with alcohol burners as it does on a nice bed of coals. Indispensable when you need a second or a third stove or just feel like getting your gourmet on. So simple and effective I wish I was marketing these. There's a lot of good stuff coming out of the Pathfinder Store and you need to get some.

This handy kit is versatile and a great addition to your outdoor gear. It can be used with canned fuel or as a free standing stove or with the grill top. The stove ring nests on the bottom of stainless steel bottles or smaller pots so it doesn't take up extra room in your pack. The grill top can be laid across a couple of logs for a handy rest for a cook pot. It is made of stainless steel so it is rugged and will last for a very long time. It is reasonably priced so get one, you'll be glad you did.

What could be more simple in a cooking scenario? I have a stove & grill that weighs little of nothing, that will never wear out, that uses either small wood, liquid or solid fuels and packs right in my cook kit? Awzum indeed! Thanks SRO. God bless you.

I have searched for the best stove ring to use with an alcohol stove ... and now I have found it. I have tested this stove ring/grill top with 4 different alcohol stoves ... from a homemade soda can stove to commercially produced stoves. It has performed flawlessly, even in windy conditions without an additional windscreen. The weight is negligible and the grill top's ability to absorb and radiate heat adds additional efficiency to all of my stoves. On average, a liter of water boiled with the grill top in place reached a rolling boil 45-75 seconds faster than using the stove ring alone. Saving that minute is nice when you are trying to purify water/cook/make a hot drink in cold conditions. The price is also negligible and shipping was very quick.

I use the stove and grill top with my 40oz Klean Kanteen bottle and my GSI cup.The system works perfect; The grill top secures the bottle or the cup perfect.
I have use it,to heat couple cans while on a small trip, the can sits secured on the grill top and you don't have to worry for any accidental drop.
It's light and works!!!What else could you ask?

This is a perfect fit for the Kleen Kanteen 40 oz water bottle and nests perfectly with the GSI cup. The grill top slides into a pocket in your bag. The edges of the grill top can be kind of sharp as they are cut to size and not between the holes.

From a minimalist aspect it is lightweight. My cup is more stable with the grill top attached.

I guess I got my unit before the switch to stainless steel, bummer.
My review is for the plain carbon steel unit. I have tired this unit out, and liked it well enough, very basic, gets the job done. However, I think with the thermal cycling of hot and cold, it makes the metal weaker.
About 2 weeks ago, I used my gear, I was drinking directly from the pathfinder 32oz bottle with the stove and cup nested around it. I guess I had some water run down the bottle, and I didn't see it. Just today, I happen to pull the setup apart, and the stove had rusted leaving rust marks on the outside of the bottle and inside the cup. Those cleaned-up easy enough with some dish-soap, but I am completely bummed that the stove wasn't stainless to keep this from happening since it nest inside the cup where water can't escape.
At this point, I am assuming it will not be an issue with the newer units. However, the model that I have, just isn't going to hold up, so the below average grade. Looking forward, I ordered the new stove unit that slide over the outside of the pathfinder cup. I will review that unit in the near future...
